Brownie Kendrick

Rayma Lee “Brownie” Kendrick, 84, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, at Coulter Road Baptist Church. Burial will be in Heart Cemetery, in Booker. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo.

Brownie was born Sept. 28, 1937, in Booker to Harry and Floy Mountcastle. After receiving her cosmetology license, she began a career as a beautician and owned her own business.

Brownie married Frank Duff on May 21, 1957. He preceded her in death in 1978. She married Ernest Allen Kendrick on March 17, 1979. He preceded her in death in 2017.

Brownie was very talented and loved painting and doing ceramics, but her true passion was sewing, quilting and of course visiting with friends and family.

She was a member of Coulter Road Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons, Greg Duff, of Amarillo, and Kelly Duff and wife Cyndi, of Goldendale, WA; stepdaughter, Vicki Conger, of Brighton, CO; two stepsons, Warren Kendrick and wife Diane, of Bullard, and David Kendrick and wife Crystal, of Lewisville; a brother, Smokey Mountcastle and wife Nancy, of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Shaun, Christopher, Kayla, and Megan Duff; eight stepgrandchildren; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces, Jan Kile and husband Mark, of Amarillo, and Kathy Gilbert, of Dallas; and nephews, Kyle Mountcastle, and Kevin Mountcastle, both of Dallas,.
