Billy Lee Johnson, 91, of Perryton, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2021.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 9, 2021 at Community Worship Center in Perryton with Rev. Harold J. Bollinger officiating. Burial will follow in Ochiltree Cemetery.
Viewing/visitation will be at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Perryton starting Friday , Aug. 6,1-9 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 7, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 8, 1-9 p.m. A family visitation is scheduled for Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Services will be broadcast live on Boxwell Brothers Facebook page for those who wish to watch. There is a link on the website (boxwellbros.com) to access the Facebook page. The family requests to follow COVID-19 guidelines of face masks and social distancing.
Billy was born Aug. 5, 1929 in Neosho, MO to Thomas and Poca (Gold) Johnson. He served as a medic in the Army during the Korean Conflict from 1948 to the end of 1951.
He married Molly Clark on September 18, 1954 in Raton, NM. She preceded him in death in 2004 after 50 years of marriage. He later married Sharon Scroggs Whitefield on Aug. 30, 2014 at the Courson Ranch in Perryton, where he worked for 31 years.
He was considered a jack of all trades and a master of all trades. He was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church in Spearman.
Billy is survived by his wife, Sharon Johnson of the home; sons, Gary and Debra Johnson of Perryton, and Braden and Amy Johnson of Pflugerville; stepdaughters, Mitzi Mires of Spearman, Deziree Pearson of Duncanville and Trixie Callahan of Parker, CO; sister, Rose Cole of Wichita, KS; 15 grandchildren, Jennifer Hathcoat, Brandon Johnson, Laresa Johnson, Rachel Hargrave, Cindy Parrish, Stacy Maddox, Jacob Johnson, Clay Johnson, Alek Mires, Arik Mires, Brittni Torres, Bailey Woodrell, Chloe Daniel, Raegan Moran, and Jackson Moran; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Poca; and daughter, Diana Nielsen.
The family requests memorials be sent in his name to the Apostolic Faith Bible College.
