Betty Line Hamon

Betty Lucille (Line-Hamon) was born in Perryton on January 22, 1937. Betty was called home to the Lord on Sunday July 11, 2021, unexpectedly in Lubbock.

Her parents were Oliver and Lucille Martin. She was raised in Perryton, and Liberal, KS. They moved back to Perryton, where she finished school. Betty married Deane Line in 1958, they were married 35 years and had two children, Shannon and Michael, three granddaughters, and five great grandsons. Deane passed in 1995.

Fresh out of high school, she went to work for General Telephone Company as an operator. She worked there 35 years. Ending her career, she finished up as an administrative assistant in the business office in Hobbs, NM.

Betty married Glen Hamon in 2002. They just celebrated 19 years this May. Betty loved her family and that was always her focus. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Hobbs, NM since the 1980’s.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Deane; and a sister, Doris Townsend.

She is survived by her husband, Glen Hamon of the home; and sister, Phillis Gorham of Nevada.

She has two children, Shannon Smith and her husband Marty of Lubbock; son, Michael Line of Midland,; three granddaughters, Callie Caraballo, husband Joash and three sons (Jonah Martin, Josiah Jahdiel, and Judah Brave) of Midland; Shea Lopez-Barela, husband Stephen and two sons (Sir Deane and Shia Zane) in Midland; and Amber Line of Diana. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Betty was a kind and generous lady who will be missed by everyone, especially her family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time, Monday, July 19, 2021 at Chapel of Hope with Pastor Stephen Helmreich officiating. Reception to follow at Trinity Lutheran Church, 718 W Bender Blvd, Hobbs, NM. Online condolences may be made at www.chapelofhopefunerals.com
