KFDA NewsChannel 10 from Amarillo will broadcast its evening newscasts from the grounds of the Ochiltree County Courthouse Wednesday, July 17.KFDA traditionally spends part of every summer broadcasting from communities throughout the Panhandle. This year, Perryton is on the station’s schedule.

Woman dies in one-vehicle crash

A local woman died in a single-vehicle accident southwest of Perryton on Sunday evening.Kacy Courson, age 40, of Perryton died in the accident on July 7.According to Texas Highway Patrol Troopers investigating the accident, the incident took place at approximately 7:28 p.m. on Sunday, on FM 2711, 6.
The Panhandle Crisis Center will hold an open house at their newly re-opened offices at 301 S. Ash in Perryton on Monday, July 15, from 2-4:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided, and everyone is welcome to attend. Gov. Greg Abbotthas appointed Courtney Hjaltman to the Public Utility Commission of Texas, filling the final vacancy on that board. The PUC regulates the state’s utility industries — electric, water, wastewater, and telecommunications.
