Museum sets hypertufa planter session The Museum of the Plains at 1200 N. Main in Perryton will host a crafting session to allow participants to make their own hypertufa planters on Saturday, July 27 from 9 a.m. to noon. Hypertufa is a cement-like material that is much lighter in weight.

Jennie June Club meets on July 11

The Jennie June Club met July 10 at Perry Memorial Library. Hostesses for the meeting were Linda Kile, Barbara McKinley and Leigh Ann Finney.President Barbara Johnson opened the meeting, followed by the reading of the collect.

School board approves cell phone policy

The Perryton School Board approved new cell phone guidelines for students at its meeting July 15.Supt. Greg Brown presented the guidelines to they board. They include that cell phones remain in student backpacks and off during the school day.

City’s sales tax payment drops 6%

The City of Perryton’s sales tax payment for July showed a decrease, similar to most area cities, for the period.The city received $247,888 for the month, 6% less than in July 2023. For the year, however, its $1.75 million in payments are a little over 8% more than in 2023.

Overnight showers bring moisture

Brief rain showers and storms fell Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, bringing some welcome rainfall to Ochiltree County, as well as lower temperatures.Mary Dudley in the central part of Perryton reported .90 of an inch of rain.

OGH Board approves radiology expansion

The Ochiltree County Hospital District Board of Directors met on Monday evening at the Ochiltree General Hospital conference center.Among other items on the agenda, the board approved an expansion for the Radiology and Respiratory Therapy departments.
