The Perryton Satellite Center’s Arts & Crafts Festival will be held this weekend, Nov. 20-21, at the Expo Center. It is the 51st year for the event.
The hours for the show will be Saturday, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 21, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
The Perryton Satellite Center serves four counties: Ochiltree, Hansford, Lipscomb and Hemphill. The center on average serves 12 clients. The center director is Deborah Dye, with Tammi Dunsworth filling the assistant’s position.
All the proceeds from the Arts & Crafts Show are used to support the nonprofit organization with clients in Perryton, Spearman, Canadian, Booker, Gruver and Darrouzett.
The festival began in 1970 and is always held the weekend before Thanksgiving. The festival is the center’s only fund-raiser with the exception of what they receive from the United Way.
Door prizes will be given away hourly on both days; the winner must be present to win.
Raffle tickets will be available for a children’s kitchenette and play center created and donated by Beth DeWitt. The raffle tickets will be sold for $10 each, and the drawing for the playset will be held on Monday, Dec. 20, at noon at the Satellite Center office at 1701 S. Jefferson.
The grand prize will be a MacKenzie Childs floral arrangement from Expressions. The grand prize winner will be drawn on Sunday at 4 p.m. The winner does not have to be present to win.
About 85 vendors – including about 15 new vendors – will be on hand to offer a vast array of goods, including pumpkin rolls, tile art, pottery, salsa, dips, jam and jellies, saddles, signs, peanut brittle, toffee, beef jerky, rope art, leather work, fudge, and lamp night lights.
Shoppers will also be able to purchase many handmade and homemade items, including soaps and lotions, potpourri, Scentsy candles, dolls, quilts, books, bags and purses, soaps, Tupperware, furniture, and photo frames.
Other items they may choose from include Christmas and fall decor, oldworld Santas, personalized wood figurines, crochet, blankets, house plants and iron works, and coffee table books.
There will be something for everyone in the family.
There will also be rest areas on the sides.
