The family of Dr. Patricia Ann Sargent is thrilled to announce her 90th birthday on February 12. Under the reign of Pope Pius XI and presidency of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, she was born on February 12, 1933 to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Patrick Turner of Arkansas City, Kansas.

Radio club gets grant for Scouts ham radio

The Top of the Panhandle Amateur Radio Club of Perryton has received a grant of $7,500 from the American Radio Relay League Foundation to help local Boy Scouts get into the hobby of amateur radio.

Night quilt group votes on challenge winners

The Friendship Quilt Guild night group met Oct. 11 at Community Worship Center. During 2022, members were “challenged” to sew a quilted project using string piecing. Members displayed their projects, which were voted on.

HELPING HAND AWARD— Ochiltree County 4-H held its annual awards ceremony Oct.10 at the Expo Center. Recognized for her willingness to help other 4-H members, the winner of the Helping Hand award was Karson Pribble.

JUNIOR LEADERSHIP AWARD WINNER— Ochiltree County 4-H held its annual awards ceremony Oct. 10 at the Expo Center. Rylan Oquin was the recipient of the Junior Leadership Award, presented by North Plains Electric Cooperative. Oquin has been a club president, club reporter, County Ambassador, awards committee member, and meat goat project leader while in 4-H. The Senior Leadership Award was given to Chloe Tanner, who was not present.

RIBBON CUTTING FOR MUTT HUTT BAKERY— Perryton-Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce members gathered last Friday afternoon for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the grand opening of the Mutt Hutt Bakery and Boutique at 212 SW 3rd Street in Perryton. The pet bakery and boutique is owned by Ryan and Audra Wells.
