OGH Auxiliary meets Aug. 1

The Ochiltree General Hospital Auxiliary met Aug. 1. Ethel Rudd, president, called the meeting to order, and Sharon Jenkins gave the prayers. A scholarship presentation of $1,000 was awarded by Jenkins and Susie Estrada to Aylin Navarrete, daughter of Blanca Navarrete, an employee of the hospital.

Thank you, Hardy Family, for the generous donation to our center. We are so pleased you enjoyed the weekend together. In fact, they enjoyed it so much; they have already reserved the center for next year’s reunion. August means back to school.

Oooops, I did it again. I thought I was so clever writing my newsletter a week ahead before vaca. Way too complicated for this brain, obviously. I am hoping that someone from the Hardy family didn’t read it and show up at the center to find no one around.

Jennie June Club

The Jennie June Club met July 13 in the conference room at the Ochiltree County Law Enforcement Center. Hostesses were Rita Castle, Phillis Oquin and Diana Wooster. Kara Malaney, president, conducted the meeting.

There are a few reasons I am glad this month is coming to a close: Sheila Harris is finished with all of her treatments, PTL (praise the Lord), and is doing so well. She looks great, has her contagious sparkle back and hopefully will be back to us on a regular basis very soon.

Miller, Sidhu wed July 1

Rachel Miller and Vikra Sidhu, both of Denver, CO, exchanged wedding vows July 1, 2022 at 12 noon at the Historical Conway Church at the Square House Museum in Panhandle. Officiating at the ceremony was Kim Fliegel.

Friendship Quilt Guild holds joint meeting

The Friendship Quilt Guild held its annual joint meeting of the day and night groups on July 12. The group enjoyed a potluck dinner. The program was given by Cheryl Ashpaugh of Guymon, OK, who designs her own quilts and does long arm quilting at her shop in Guymon.
