Members of Ochiltree County 4-H held their annual scavenger hunt food drive last week as teams of students roamed Perryton collecting food to donate to Jireh Food Ministry. Members collected almost 200 food items to donate to Jireh.

The winners of the Wheatheart of the Nation Celebration parade in August were honored by the Wheatheart of the Nation Celebration Committee at the end of September. Among the winners recognized were, from left, front row: Giselle Romero and Monica Simental, both from Animal Clinic of Perryton, and Alexis Cano and Abraham Cano, from Foursquare Gospel Church; back row: Marissa Rosales and Mariel Martinez, both from Carmex Auto Sales, and Jaedyn Garcia, the Demolition Derby float winner.

Officials and staff members at FirstBank Southwest, along with members of the Perryton-Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce, business leaders, and bank customers were on hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the bank’s main branch on Oct. 2. The bank’s main building had sustained damage in the June 2023 tornado that struck downtown and had finally re-opened for business at the end of September.
