Views from Around the Panhandle

Many years ago, when silver was shooting up in value and there were still silver coins in circulation, I started checking my coins every evening when I emptied my pockets.

Occasionally, I will still find an unusual coin, including a wheat leaf penny, a silver dime or an old quarter. Recently, however, I found a Jefferson nickel which was dated 1939.
