Election day for city council is Saturday

Voters will go to the polls this Saturday, to vote for positions on the Perryton City Council.At the end of the early voting period April 28, 112 people had cast early ballots.There are three candidates in the race, seeking two positions up for election on the council.

Hospital discusses new ambulances

The Ochiltree County Hospital District Board of Directors met on Monday evening in the conference center at Ochiltree General Hospital.Among other items on the agenda, the hospital board discussed the new ambulance chassis ordered by the district.

PHS Choirs to host talent showThe Perryton High School Choirs and the PHS Tech Department will host a talent show on Monday, April 27, at 7 p.m. at the PHS Auditorium. The show will feature singers, dancers, short films, crowd prizes, a raffle, and more.

PHS Choirs compete at contest

Perryton High School’s Mixed Varsity Choir achieved Superior ratings on their concert performance at the Concert and Sight Reading Choir Contest.The competition was held on April 8 at Texas A&M University in Canyon.

City to revisit fire agreement with county

The Perryton City Council met Tuesday evening, discussing several items, including the city’s fire services contract with Ochiltree County, and a land purchase.City Manager Colby Waters talked about the fire contract, noting it had been in place since 1990.

Powerlifters do well at nationals

The boys and girls powerlifting teams competed at nationals in Omaha, NE.On the first day, the PHS team had two national champions, Crystal Anaya winning the 43 kg (94.8 lb.) class and Khadyn Juarez taking first in the 53 kg (116.8 lb.) class.
