Pickleball tournament scheduled for Friday Chase Your Dreams will host a pickleball tournament this Friday, June 13, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Perryton High School tennis courts. The tournament will be doubles only with divisions for beginners and advanced players.

City council okays several parks dept. grant projects

The Perryton City Council approved several items to improve local parks at its meeting Tuesday evening.The council approved an interlocal contract with the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission for project administration services for a $150,000 grant awarded to the city by Texas Parks and Wildlife.

USDA approves damage emergency assistance for Ochiltree County fires

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) announced that Ochiltree County is accepting applications for the Emergency Conservation Program (ECP) to address damages from a recent wildfire that occurred March 14, 2025, through March 16, 2025.

Storms bring more moisture

Ochiltree County received more precipitation this week, primarily from a pair of thunderstorms, one last Wednesday night and the second on Monday evening.KEYE Radio’s official rainfall total from the two storms was .91 of an inch.

Children’s fishing tournament June 7

The Wolf Creek Improvement Board will host its annual Children’s Fishing Tournament next month.The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, at Lake Fryer in Wolf Creek Park.Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Pavilion east of the Lobo Restaurant.
