Coats for Kids begins 25th year of proving warm coats for kids

FirstBank Southwest is kicking off its 25th year of sponsoring a community project geared toward helping children during the upcoming fall and winter seasons.This year, the bank will again sponsor its “Coats and Shoes for Kids” drive in September through October.

NEW COUNTY AGENT HIRED

Ochiltree County Commissioners have officially hired a new Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agent. Marcus Preuninger previously earned his bachelors degree in agriculture from West Texas A&M University and his Masters degree at Kansas State University.

Audit finds problems with winterizing energy grid

A new report from the State Auditor’s Office concludes that state oil and gas inspectors are not doing their job to adequately verify that Texas natural gas producers and their delivery systems can hold up under severe winter storms, according to the Texas Standard.
