Perryton residents turned out last Thursday evening to enjoy the Perryton Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce’s annual block party on Main Street and on the courthouse lawn. Among the groups offering fun and activities to locals was the Ochiltree County Sheriff’s Department, which had fingerprinting kits, stickers, and temporary tattoos. Local residents have been turning out for the Ochiltree County Farmers Market every Saturday for their pick of homemade bread and pastries, handmade crafts and quilts, farm-fresh vegetables, and much more. But time is running out for those wanting to stop by; the last day of the Farmers Market will be Saturday, Sept. 13.

The Perryton Kiwanis Club named Carol Hayden as their Workhorse of the Year on Tuesday evening. She is a retired P.E. teacher at Wright Elementary and a founder of Snack Pak 4 Kids in Perryton. The Kiwanis Club also made a $500 donation to Snack Pak in honor of Hayden. Pictured are, from left, Hayden and Kiwanis president Chase Allison.
