Kalen Ramos has been named the Young Careerist of the Month by the Panhandle Professional Women’s Club.She is married to Rodrigo Ramos. Her hobbies are spending time with her family, traveling and reading.She is an associate attorney at the Lemon Law Firm.

Thunderstorms bring rain, hail

Rainstorms hit Ochiltree County in the early part of this week, bringing some welcome moisture and some less welcome hail damage.On Monday night, heavy thunderstorms hit the eastern side of the county, with heavy hail and even a tornado warning in southeastern Ochiltree County.

Commissioners approve budget and tax rate

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met on Monday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse.Among other items on the agenda, the commissioners adopted the budget for Fiscal Year 2025-26.

The Perryton Kiwanis Club named Carol Hayden as their Workhorse of the Year on Tuesday evening. She is a retired P.E. teacher at Wright Elementary and a founder of Snack Pak 4 Kids in Perryton. City sees 16% increase in its sales tax revenues

The City of Perryton received some very good news this month about its sales tax payment.The city received $275,407, which is a little over 16% more than last September. Its year to date payments of $2.36 million are also up, nearly 4%.
