PHS seniors receive scholarships in annual awards

Local scholarships were awarded to Perryton High School seniors at the annual awards assembly on Tuesday, May 12, with the presentation of scholarships from local businesses, organizations, and individuals.Several honors were also announced.
Perryton High School’s annual art show featured artwork created by students of all grade levels. The Best in Show and purchase prize award went to Coda Dettmann for “Forgotten,” which will be added to the high school’s permanent art collection. Dettmann also received a $150 cash prize for his winning artwork.

Early voting now underway in primary runoffs

Early voting is currently underway for the primary runoff elections.Early voting began Monday, and runs through this Friday, May 22.Early voting is conducted at the Ochiltree County Courthouse, first floor, south office. Hours are 7 a.m.-7 p.m., including the noon hour.

Crisis Center sets golf tourneyThe Panhandle Crisis Center’s 29th annual golf tournament will be held on Saturday, May 30, at the Perryton Municipal Golf Course. The entry fee for the two-player scramble is $50 per player, which includes green fees, mulligans, beverages during play, and lunch.
