It’s amazing talents for granted when they don’t discuss their skills. Despite being a rare musical talent, Barbara Johnson spends no time tooting her own horn. We have all witnessed Johnson’s talents as a gifted educator, music teacher, business owner, community activist and volunteer.

The Perryton Rotary Club recognized its November Perryton High School Students of the Month, seniors Shallan Anderson and Ivan Uribe, at its meeting Nov. 5. Anderson is the daughter of Jeremy and Melisa Anderson. She has one sister, Jontra.

The freshmen football team hosted Borger Nov. 5 in their last game of the season, and came up short in the 12-6 contest. After a scoreless first quarter, both teams scored a touchdown, with Sammy Perez making the points for Perryton, to knot the score at 6-6 at the half.

PHS Principal’s Honor Roll

Perryton High School has named the students making the principal’s honor roll for the first nine weeks. To be eligible, they must have an average of 89.5 or higher.

Happy birthday Nancy! This girl, what can I say that hasn’t been mentioned before? She is definitely the rock that holds us together at the center. She has trained seven different directors before me – save the best for last. Not really the last, but it’s just how the saying goes, so I used it.

4-H members compete in , 4-H roundup in Amarillo

Six Ochiltree County 4-H members competed at the Panhandle District 4-H Roundup Contests at the Amarillo National Center at the Tri State Fairgrounds in Amarillo on Oct. 20. Over 200 contestants from the top 22 counties in the Texas Panhandle competed in various contests.
