Day quilt guild hears t-shirt quilt program March 10

The day group of the Friendship Quilt Guild met March 10. Thank you notes were read from Karen Cates, Myrna Biggers, Gregg and Donna Flaming, Phyllis McWhorter, and two recipients of Prayers and Squares quilts. Cynthia Shattles gave a report on the Quilts of Valor project.

Tips for dyeing Easter eggs

Coloring eggs is a beloved Easter tradition. Eggs long have been symbols of fertility and rebirth, making them fitting icons for spring. One story links eggs to Easter as well.

OGH Auxiliary has program on Perryton Activity Center

The Ochiltree General Hospital Auxiliary met March 1 in the OGH conference room. Daniel Broome, director of the Perryton & Vicinity Activity Center gave the program. He explained that the center is a non-profit organization that is member based and volunteer-led.

Historic First

Frances Perkins was the first woman to serve in a U.S. presidential cabinet. She was the Secretary of Labor for Franklin D. Roosevelt beginning in 1933.
