The Ochiltree County 4-H Ag/Livestock Club met Nov. 6 at the Expo Center, with Michael Balzer conducting the meeting. The program was given by extension agent Scott Strawn on showmanship. He discussed the proper ways to bathe and clip animals for stock shows.

Chili is a staple of Texas cuisine. Many of us know it as a warm bowl of joy on a crisp fall evening and a great way to gather family and friends around the dinner table. In fact, on May 11, 1977, chili was adopted as the state dish of Texas by the Legislature.

Mendez is named PPW Young Careerist of Month

Julia Mendez has been named the Young Careerist of the Month by the Panhandle Professional Women’s Club. She is the assistant chief appraiser of the Ochiltree County Appraisal District.
