DPS increases enforcement for July 4 holiday

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is stepping up enforcement efforts for the Fourth of July holiday to keep everyone safe on the roads, including Operation Crash Awareness Reduction Effort (CARE), which runs July 3-6.

Abbott orders establishing screwworm team

Abbottlast week directed the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the Texas Animal Health Commission to create a jointT exas New World Screwworm Response Team. That’s in response to the recent northward spread of the screwworm.

The Museum of the Plains has added a new display of signs damaged in the tornado that struck Perryton in June 2023. The signs include Ellis Theater, Equity Exchange, Jewell Boot Repair, La Casita, and even a sign for the museum itself.
