Local volunteers for Snack Pak 4 Kids gathered Monday evening at Williams Intermediate Elementary School to pack snacks for hungry kids. Volunteers meet every few weeks to pack snack bags with nutritious food to help food-insecure students stave off hunger. Volunteers include students from Perryton High School, local business employees, church groups, and people who just want to help.

Perryton Junior High School students were named to the Region One Sixth Grade Honor Choir recently, made up of the top 10 percent of each sixth grade choir in the region. On Feb. 6, they will travel to Amarillo to participate in a clinic and concert. Black bear population on the rise in West Texas

Sightings of black bears in West Texas have jumped from nearly 80 in 2020 to at least 130 this year, the Texas Standard reported. That has caused some challenges and concern as bears visit neighborhoods in search of food and pose a threat to livestock and pets.
