Steers end Rangers’ season, 49-7

The Graham Steers showed why they are a state ranked team, taking a big 49-7 over the Rangers in the area round of the playoffs Friday night in Wolfortth. The Steers scored touchdowns on seven of their nine possessions in the game, and held the Ranger offense in check most of the evening.

Lady Deputies JV Basketball

The Lady Deputies were back in action last Saturday as the junior varsity team from White Deer came to Perryton. The Lady Deputies got in the win column with a 54-43 victory. The game started close with both teams scoring 8 points in the first quarter.

The Rangerette basketball team continued their early season success as they improve to a record of 3-1 with a win over Spearman on Tuesday night. Perryton jumped out to an early lead and led throughout the contest before winning by the final score of 46-39.

The freshmen Wranglers basketball team opened their season Nov. 17 with a road game with the Darrouzett varsity, and came up short, 46-36. After the first quarter, the score was close, 12-11, with Darrouzett ahead. By the half, the Wranglers led 23- 19 going into intermission.

After a disappointing outing on Wednesday the Rangerette basketball team righted the ship to return to the win column on Saturday. Like a rapid cross-over dribble that fools the opponent, the Rettes switched from struggling to score back to a healthy offensive output on Saturday.

Rangers are bi-district champs, to face Graham in area

The Perryton Rangers picked up a big 34-20 bi-district championship win over the Monahans Loboes last Friday night at Ranger Field, and advance to the area round this Friday against the Graham Steers. The playoff game will be played at Peoples Bank Stadium in Wolfforth, just outside of Lubbock.
