Rettes thrash the Lady Harvesters

The Rangerette basketball team faced a familiar foe on Friday at home. The Pampa Lady Harvesters came to town for what promised to be a rugged contest. The Rettes looked to enter the win column in district play after losses to Borger and Canyon.

Vehicle burglarized

A vehicle burglary was investigated by police during the week. A burglary to a vehicle, parked at 2013 S. Indiana, was reported. Taken were a pistol, a backpack, credit cards and cash. Total value was around $640.

Rangers win their district opener

The Rangers opened district play against the Pampa Harvesters on Friday night in Perryton. The Rangers looked to avenge a loss to the Harvesters in the Gruver Tournament and start the district season with a home win. The game ended as a barn burner.

Information needed on bus barn burglary

Perryton-Ochiltree County Crime Stoppers needs information this week to solve a burglary. On Jan. 6, it was reported to the police department that sometime over the Christmas break someone broke into the Perryton ISD bus barn. Taken were three catalytic converters.

Perryton ISD bus barn burglarized

A burglary at the Perryton ISD bus barn was investigated during the week. Sometime over the Christmas break, someone broke into the bus barn and stole three catalytic converters. Damage was estimated at over $6,000.

Rettes open district

The Rangerette basketball team traveled to Borger to open a very tough district season on Friday. The Rettes hoped to steal a victory on the road to begin their track to the playoffs. Borger is loaded with athletes but has played inconsistently on the season.

Rangers take Caprock to overtime

Free basketball was played at the Ranger gymnasium on Friday night. Spectators got a bonus on the admission price when the Rangers and the Caprock Longhorns battled into overtime. The score was knotted at 54 at the end of regulation.

Rangers travel to the Gruver Tournament

The Perryton Rangers round ballers made the short trip to Gruver several times last week to compete in the Gruver Holiday Classic. Perryton played four tough games, including one against a district opponent.
