School board meets March 24

The Perryton School Board met March 24.Supt. Greg. Brown recognized students from around the district for recent accomplishments. They included art, golf, livestock shows, the Ranger soccer team and PHS powerlifting teams.

Rettes take fourth at state; had five medalists

The Rangerette powerlifters did well at the state powerlifting meet last weekend. The team finished in fourth place, and had several medalists at the event.“Our girls team finished fourth place as a team. It was not near the result we wanted, but proud regardless.

Comiskey hired as new city manager for City of Perryton

The City of Perryton has selected Patrick Comiskey as its next city manager.Comiskey has three decades of experience in local government, city management in particular. His most recent city manager roles include the cities of Mount Dora, FL; Cambridge, MD; and Thomaston, GA.

City sales tax payment up

For the second month in a row, the City of Perryton saw an uptick in its sales tax payment.In March, the city received a payment of $227,819, which is 3% higher than last March. For the year so far, the city has received $753,179, which is .5% above 2024 payments to date.

OGH board receives annual audit report

The Ochiltree County Hospital District’s Board of Directors met Monday in the conference center at Ochiltree General Hospital.Among other items on the agenda, the board heard the audit and cost report for the hospital for fiscal year 2024.
Perryton and Ochiltree County have had lots and lots of windy days this month, but every once in a while, the weather will work out right, and county residents will get treated to a few nice days of light breezes and warm temperatures.
