City water park ready to open

The Perryton Municipal Water Park is ready to open for the summer season.The pool will open for regular swimming this Sunday, May 25, but fans of the water park can get an early preview this Friday, May 23, when the pool will open for their first Movie Night of the summer.

City’s sale tax payment up 7%

The City of Perryton saw a nice increase in its sales tax payment for May.The city received $301,273, which is 7.3% higher than last May. For the year so far, its payments of $1.28 million are up slightly, .51%.Around the area, only two other cities notched increases in their monthly payments.

PHS to hold graduation on May 24

Perryton High School’s Class of 2025 will hold commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 24, at 11 a.m. at Ranger Field.A total of 98 students will be awarded their diplomas during the annual ceremony.

County discusses upcoming budget

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met last week at the Ochiltree County Courthouse.Among other items on the agenda, the commissioners discussed the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

Leadership Perryton graduates 17

Graduation of the 23rd class of Leadership Perryton was held recently at the First Methodist Church. Seventeen members completed the nine-month leadership development course and received a special award at their graduation lunch.
