Thunderstorms bring rain, hail

Rainstorms hit Ochiltree County in the early part of this week, bringing some welcome moisture and some less welcome hail damage.On Monday night, heavy thunderstorms hit the eastern side of the county, with heavy hail and even a tornado warning in southeastern Ochiltree County.

Commissioners approve budget and tax rate

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met on Monday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse.Among other items on the agenda, the commissioners adopted the budget for Fiscal Year 2025-26.

City sees 16% increase in its sales tax revenues

The City of Perryton received some very good news this month about its sales tax payment.The city received $275,407, which is a little over 16% more than last September. Its year to date payments of $2.36 million are also up, nearly 4%.

Pathways program enrollment underway The Pathways Scholarship Program is accepting student pledge contracts for 2025-26 until Tuesday, Sept. 30. Pathways is open to all Perryton High School freshmen, and eligible sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
