Hernandez rites held

Gustavo Hernandez

Gustavo Hernandez, 70, of Perryton, died March 14, 2024.

Services were held Monday, March 18, at Iglesia Pentecostal Unida in Perryton. Burial followed in Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

He was bornAug. 2, 1953 in Estacion Conchos, Chihuahua, Mexico. He married Maria Hernandez on May 19, 1973. They came to the United States in 1973.

He was a deacon, musician and bishop. He became pastor of Iglesia Pentecostal Unida in Perryton in 1992. He helped start churches in Borger, Guymon, OK, Dumas, Hereford, Pampa, Cardenas, Chihuahua and Beaver, OK.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria; and his parents, Macario Hernandez and Paula Gonzalez.

He is survived by his children, Gustavo Hernandez, Albert Hernandez, Maria Hernandez, Jesus Hernandez, David Hernandez, Mac Hernandez, Francis Zavala and Paulita Hernandez; 21 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
