Rettes host Borger

The Rangerette softball team hosted the Borger Lady Bulldogs on Friday to begin the second round of distric play. The Rettes were hoping to avenge a loss from earlier in the season to the Lady Bulldogs by the score of 15-0. They also looked to pick up their first district victory on the season.

Borger’s tough pitching helped them secure Friday’s win by the score of 14-3 in five innings. The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first inning and never relinquished the lead. An explosive 8-run third inning secured the win for Borger.

Mickah Landeros (1-9) pitched a good game for Perryton, but received the loss. She allowed 8 hits and 9 earned runs while striking out 4 and walking 11 Lady Bulldog batters. The Borger pitchers allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits while striking out 8 and walking 1 Ran-gerette batters.

Mya Valenzuela had a great day at the plate going 2 for 2 with 2 RBI’s to lead Perryton. Dalia Becerril batted 1 for 2 with a run scored and an RBI. Her hit was a double to the fence.

Tanya Navarrete went 1 for 3 at the dish, with a run scored. Ivan Garcia batted 1 for 3 with a stolen base in the loss.

The loss brings the Rangerettes’ season record to 2-19 and their district record to 0-6.
