Quilt guild presents 19 Quilts of Honor at Sept. 9 ceremony
QUILTS OF VALOR—The Friendship Quilt Guild presented 19 Quilts of Valor Sept. 9. The quilts are given to local area veterans to honor their service to America. Nine of those recipients are, top photo, first row, Price Money and L.G. Halliburton; and second row, Eileen Broadbent, Rodney Cates and O.B. Callahan. In the bottom photo are, first row, Tark Cook and Don Simpson; and second row, Curtis Parker and Danny Barclay. Each of the quilts are handmade and quilted by members of the Friendship Quilt Guild.
The Friendship Quilt Guild presented 19 Quilts of Valor to local and are veterans in a special ceremony Sept. 9 at Community Worship Center.
The first nine will be highlighted in this issue, with the remaining 10 to be featured in an upcoming Herald.
