Where to even begin. First off: our board of directors put together a near perfect event. They sold tickets – a lot of tickets, the dining area was decorated all heartsy, exploding in red, and they had the meal prepared ready to go at straight up 6 o’clock. That in itself is a major accomplishment.

Getting out and about is a vital component of many seniors’ daily lives, but it’s important that aging men and women recognize how much exercise is healthy for them. The Department of Health & Human Services notes that adults need a mix of physical activity to stay healthy.

Jennie June Club has book review program

The Jennie June Club met Feb. 9 at Perry Memorial Library. Hostesses were Carol McGarraugh, Sandra Splawn and Renee Lee. Perryton High School English teacher Lenora Barnes gave the program, a book review on “Salt to the Sea” by Rita Sepetys, a New York Times No.

Alamo Club learns about history of Monopoly

The Ochiltree County 4-H Alamo Club met on Monday, Feb. 7 at the Expo Center. Members created Valentines to share with someone they love. After the business meeting, Darlee George gave the program, “The History of Monopoly.” The youth then played board games and enjoyed refreshments.
