Elda Adeline Hardy Schwalk, 105, of Perryton, died Nov. 18, 2025.
Services were held Saturday, Nov. 22, at First Christian Church in Perryton, with Elder Gail Faries officiating. Burial followed in Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
She was born Jan. 8, 1920 in Rison, AR, and grew up on a farm in Ochiltree County. She attended McMillen country school, and graduated from Perryton High School in 1937.
She married Earl Jake Schwalk in 1939. She worked on the family farm, Perryton High School, Big 4 Packing and retired from the abstract office in 1984. She was a member of Primitive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her parents, James Franklin and Myra Gertrude (Winfrey) Hardy; and five siblings, Paul Hardy, Wilma Gipson, Helen Britton, Faye Faries and Byrl Hardy.
She is survived by two daughters, Earlene Wagner of Polo, MO and Rita Saunders of Follett; two sons, Byron Schwalk and Kenneth Schwalk, both of Perryton; 21 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Ochiltree General Hospital Hospice Volunteers, The Seasons or one’s favorite charity.
