Robert Dean Duke, 53, of Darrouzett, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022 in Canadian.
Services were held at 2 PM on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church in Darrouzettwith David Rush officiating. Burial followed at Lipscomb Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.
Robert was born on Dec. 28, 1968 in Shattuck, OK to Bobby K Duke and Bessie Lee Fausset Duke. He was a 1987 graduate of Darrouzett High School.
After high school, Robert attended West Texas University and University of Texas in Arlington. He married the love of his life, Charlene Jenkins, on April 4, 1991 and together they made their home in Darrouzett, along with their sons, R.D. and Draylen. Robert was extremely proud of his two sons R.D. and Draylen and wanted nothing more for them than to be strong, respectful, and successful men who could graciously handle whatever life threw at them.
Robert had a love for ranching, and he ranched until his passing. Robert earned his private pilot’s license in 1993 and then earned his commercial pilot’s license. Robert loved to spend as much time as he could flying.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Bessie Lee Duke.
Robert is survived by his wife, Charlene Duke of the home; two sons, Robert Dean Duke, Jr. and wife Mabry and Charles Draylen Duke and wife Brantly,all of Spearman; five siblings, Sherrie Burns of Richardson, CoetaRhodes and husband Rick of Weatherford, Brad Altmiller and wife Maryof Darrouzett, Kay Duke and wife Michele of Darrouzett, and Barbie Slattonand husband Rick of Ocala, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
