Ana Mercado
Ana Maria Chairez de Mercado, 100, of Perryton died Nov. 23, 2025.
Funeral mass was held Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial followed in Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
She was born Feb. 16, 1925 in Apaseo Nieves, Zacatecas, Mexico, and married Jose Vicente Mercado June 8, 1944 in Zacatecas, Mexico. She was a homemaker and also was a produce picker in Oxnard, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Francisca Mercado; two sons; and her parents, Teresa Mendoza and Florentino Chairez.
She is survived by four daughters, Irene Mercado and Ana C. Mercado, both of Oxnard, CA, Tere Mercado and Edith Mercado, both of Perryton; two sons, Rogelio Mercado of Santa Maria, CA and Gerardo Mercado of Oxnard, CA; 36 grandchildren; one hundred great-grandchildren; 38 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-greatgrandchildren.
