Ava Littau Herzer

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ava Ruth Herzer, who entered eternal rest with the Lord on October 22, 2025. Born in 1947 in Beaver County, Ava lived a life of warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith, leaving a legacy that will forever resonate with her family and community.

Ava married Roy Henry Littau in 1965, sharing a life together until his passing on March 25, 1985. She later found love again with Charles Michael Herzer, whom she married on September 28, 1991, in Perryton, Texas. They settled in Beaver County, where Ava’s heart remained rooted. Charles preceded her in death on February 2, 2025, and now they are reunited in eternity.

A va is survived by her daughter, Monika Logan, and son-in-law, Tim Logan, of Dallas, Texas; her stepdaughter, Jillian Herzer, and stepson, Clayton Herzer, of Moore, Oklahoma, Clayton’s children Hannah & Hayden Herzer, and her cherished grandchildren, Tori Green and Colton Hall, each married with two children, residing in Louisiana, their four children being Ava’s great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother, sister, nephews, nieces, and a wide circle of friends.

A farm girl at heart, Ava grew up among the golden plains of Oklahoma, cultivating a deep love for animals and a keen ear for nature’s symphony. She could name every bird by its song and sensed the wildlife around her home. Her kitchen was a haven of love, where she crafted homemade dishes that nourished her church and community. An artist in every sense, Ava’s piano melodies lifted spirits, and her paintings brought color to the world, mending hearts with her creative grace.

Always ready to lend a helping hand, Ava treasured time spent with friends, her laughter and kindness lighting up every gathering. Her faith guided her life, and in the words of Matthew 5:16, “ In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Ava’s light continues to shine in the lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations that you please share a favorite recipe(s) and/or story about her to mlogan@texaspcs.org in Ava’s honor for a memorial cookbook celebrating her.

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” (Psalm 116:15).

A memorial service will be held at Midway Country Church at 10 a.m., November 8, 2025.
