Alta McGarraugh Wood, 103, of Perryton, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 in Perryton.
Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2025 and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. A private family burial will be held at Ochiltree Cemetery in Perryton.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 1 p.m. at First Christian Church in Perryton, officiated by Rev. Dan Anderson. Arrangements are by Box-well Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton.
Alta was born on October 17, 1921 in Perryton, to Milton Rice Todd and Blanche Etta Lovett. She farmed and ranched alongside her husband, and later her sons. She loved traveling the world, and she loved investing!
Alta is survived by one son, Scott McGarraugh and wife Lindy of Perryton, ; one niece/daughter, Janye Pointer of Perryton; three grandsons, Neil McGarraugh of Arkansas, Cody McGarraugh of Fort Worth, and Drew McGarraugh of Edmond OK; two granddaughters, Kris Wooten of Edmond, OK, and Mary McGarraugh of Weatherford;14 greatgrandchildren, Heather Alexander, Sarah Alexander, Holly Alexander, Payton McGarraugh, Callie Elder, Hannah McGarraugh, Ethan McGar-raugh, Gabby McGarraugh, Chan-dler Wooten, Drew Wooten, Hadley Wooten, Chloe McGarraugh, Luke Mc-Garraugh and Olivia McGarraugh; niece Tonya Stiel and husband Hal; and Sharon Graves, a special friend to Alta.
Alta was preceded in death by her parents; Neil McGarraugh, her first husband, and Manse Wood, her second husband; one son, Cliff McGarraugh; one grandson, Cole McGarraugh; and six siblings, Essa Todd Hoover, Jack F. Todd, Mildred Cowan, Blanche Marxsen, Lois Hershey and Milton Todd, Jr.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Twila Collingsworth and Shelley Schafer for the wonderful care they gave Alta.
