The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met on Monday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse.Among other items on the agenda, the commissioners officially hired Marcus Preuninger as the county’s new Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service agent.

Ochiltree County Commissioners have officially hired a new Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agent. Marcus Preuninger previously earned his bachelors degree in agriculture from West Texas A&M University and his Masters degree at Kansas State University.

Rifle and Pistol Club sets monthly meeting The Perryton Rifle and Pistol Club will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. at the indoor range south of the Ochiltree County Expo Building. The club will be discussing new and ongoing projects.

Audit finds problems with winterizing energy grid

A new report from the State Auditor’s Office concludes that state oil and gas inspectors are not doing their job to adequately verify that Texas natural gas producers and their delivery systems can hold up under severe winter storms, according to the Texas Standard.
