PHS Choir soloists qualify for State

Perryton High School choir students competed in UIL Solo-Ensemble Contest last month at Canyon High School, with more than 20 students qualifying for state competition.All of the PHS students competed as soloists; there were no ensembles in this year’s contest.
Members of Leadership Perryton XXIV participated in Reality Day, a poverty simulation, on Wednesday, learning about some of the realities and challenges faced by low-income families. Participants in the simulation were given simple roles to play during the project, including newly unemployed people, homeless people, recipients of TANF funds, senior citizens on disability, and single parents. The task assigned to all was to provide basic necessities and shelter during the course of four 15-minute weeks.

OGH board approves Childers-Siewert Building renovations

The Ochiltree County Hospital District Board of Directors met on Monday evening in the conference center at Ochiltree General Hospital.Among other items on the agenda, the board members ratified a quote from Trejo Roofing for renovation of the district’s Childers-Siewert Building.
