Eta Alpha donates to scholarship fund

The Eta Alpha chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society met for its April meeting at New Hope Fellowship. Special guest was Marilyn Stone, area coordinator from Canyon. The opening thought was given by Laurette Wauer.

Linda Kile, Zulema Miranda, Toni Boren, Nancy Cain and Brenda Griffin are total rock stars. These girls whipped up 37 dozen bierox on Tuesday afternoon, plus nine more dozen to be served for our noon meal on Wednesday.

Quilt guild day group has program on fabric frames

The Friendship Quilt Guild day group met April 14 at Community Worship Center. The program on making projects with fabric frames and pictures was given by Merlyn Forrest, Ilene Floyd and Barbara Hawkins. They taught the proper way to clean old fabrics and doilies.

Annie Webb Blanton was the first woman to run for and win public office in Texas when she was elected the Superintendent of Texas Public Instruction in 1918.

This past week at the center, we had a surprise visitor. Alexia Ortega called Monday morning asking if she could be of service. She is a member of the Perryton High School National Honor Society and needed to fulfill her volunteer hours. Holy cow, was she appreciated. That girl knows how to work.
