Cayla Maestas, Senior Vice President in Accounting at FirstBank Southwest in Perryton was named January’s Young Careerist for the Panhandle Professional Women’s club. She considers her current employment her profession.

Night quilt group learns to make design boards

The night group of the Friendship Quilt Guild met Jan. 11 at Community Worship Center. The group enjoyed a potluck dinner.

Veterans Land Board launches ‘Valentines for Veterans’ campaign

The Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) kicked off its month-long campaign to send Valentines cards to the nearly 1,000 residents of its nine state veterans homes. The VLB urges Texans to take part in this mission to show these courageous men and women that they are an integral part of our communities.

Calorie-counting and watching one’s weight is often seen as a young person’s game. But even aging men and women should recognize the importance of maintaining a healthy weight. Older adults may experience weight gain or unintentional weight loss.
