We have new members ya’ll. Hats off to Pam Parker for coming aboard. Get it...hats off? Have you ever seen Pam without her hat on? She was here on our Thanksgiving lunch and was so busy going around visiting; she almost missed out on the food. What a bright spot she brings where ever she goes.

Jim and Lora Henry have been sampling Nancy’s wonderful meals and decided to take advantage of the member discount price. From what I hear, Lora is an amazing cook, so if our meals are satisfying Jim, we are golden. We won’t see them much at the center, but are so happy to be able to call these sweet sweet people “ours”.

You have probably noticed the nice new pretty bright red fence around the generator. When it was first painted, it was the perfect shade of orange. It matched the brick to a tee. The next day when I showed up to check on the progress, to my surprise, it was the red you see now.

Well, actually, I wasn’t surprised at all, and you won’t be either after reading the rest of the story. When I asked the painter about it, he just gave me that little grin and said, “I just couldn’t stand it.” As Kerry Symons put it, there was no doubt who had done the job for us. Thank you Perry and Tate Allred of Allred Construction, as always, you did an amazing job.

The Board of Directors will be meeting on Wednesday this week. It will be the last meeting for Debbie Symons, Joe Johnson, Linda Kile and Brenda Griffin. These guys have all been excellent contributors to our center working tirelessly on any project thrown at them. But most importantly, they are great people to be around. Don’t go far guys, OCSCA still wants ya hanging around.

Our hearts are all broken with the loss of a very special lady, Bobbie Bozeman. She is that person who leaves a special mark on us all. We all have a Bobbie story. At the center, she served as board president, and a member of the board for many years. I called on her many times for advice, and if you know her at all, always got her opinion as an added bonus.

A long, long time ago, I nicknamed her Bunnard (because she was a bunnard years old). I was 16 at the time, so everyone over 20 was old. I’m not really sure if Bobbie even knew my real name. When she and my brother Bobby worked together, she was Bobbie One, and he was Bobby Two. I’m guessing she had a nickname for most of us, and we loved hearing it said in that raspy voice of hers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Bobbie will be missed, but I thank God that we were able to share a small piece of her world. All I have left to say is, and I mean this with all due respect – Dear Lord, take Bobbie in your arms, and then sit back, relax and watch her manage Heaven. She will have it in tip top shape in no time at all.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!

The Center will be closed Monday for Bobbie Bozeman’s funeral.
