Rettes open district play

Rettes open district play

Rangerettes Basketball

The Rangerette basketball team traveled to Dumas to open the district season on Friday. This venue is always challenging and often creates scoring challenges for visiting teams. That was the case for both teams on Friday as they each struggled to put the ball in the basket.

The game was a low scoring affair, with the majority of the low offensive production occurring in the first half. Perryton jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter and the score remained tied at halftime. Most of the few precious points in the second half went the way of the Demonettes who won the game by the final score of 26-21.

Cassidy Farney was back in the lineup after illness to lead the Rettes with 5 points in the first quarter. Molly McGaughy and Gisselle Hernandez each scored from inside the arc as Perryton led by the score of 9-4 at the end of the first quarter.
