Another record is set for city’s sales tax receipts

On the heels of a recordsetting payment last month, the City of Perryton’s sales tax check for November is even higher. The city’s payment was just shy of $750,000 for November, making it the all time highest, and the first to go over $700,000.

Rangers to play Dalhart Friday in playoff spot showdown

The Perryton Rangers will host Dalhart this Friday night in a must win situation to get into the playoffs. Kick off is at 7 p.m. at Ranger Field. Vernon (3-0 in district), Iowa Park (2-1) and Bushland (2-2) have already secured spots in the playoffs. The final spot will be decided Friday night. Dalhart is 0-3 in district, and the Rangers are 1-2. The winner will claim the final playoff slot in District 1-4A, DII.

General election slated Tuesday

The Nov. 4 general election for several national and statewide offices will be held this Tuesday, with voting places open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.Voting will be by precincts: Precinct 1, City Hall; Precinct 2, Expo Center; Precinct 3, Church of Christ; and Precinct 4, Victory Family Church.

United Way fund drive reaches 43%

The Ochiltree United Way reached 43% of its $124,000 goal for the 2015 campaign last week. As of Friday, the drive had garnered $53,226.28 in donations. Four of the six divisions netted donations during the week.
