Ochiltree General Hospital has reported a second death in the county due to the coronavirus.

The first death from the virus came in late April.

Neither of the victims have been officially identified by OGH officials.

Ochiltree County Emergency Management lists the total of confirmed COVID-19 cases at 39 as of Wednesday afternoon, which includes one case from Lipscomb County and one from Beaver County, Oklahoma.

County officials are still awaiting results from the mobile testing unit that visited the Ochiltree County Expo Center last Wednesday, where approximately 20 people were tested. The tests were conducted by the Texas Department of State Health Services in partnership with the Texas National Guard, the Texas Division of Emergency Management, and the Texas Emergency Medical Task Force.
