Rangers attack the greens in Amarillo

The Ranger golf team carried their bags for a 36-hole event in Amarillo last weekend. The first 18 holes were played Friday at the Amarillo Country Club. The next 18 holes were at the Tascosa Country Club on Saturday.

The Rangers faced tough competition but played very well against larger schools. Randall High School won with a team total of 605. Tascosa High School was second carding 614. Amarillo High School was third with 645 strokes. Perryton was a close fourth with a 649 total. Hereford (703), Pampa (711) and Lubbock Mon-terrey (774) rounded out the field.

Randall’s Stetson Provence earned the top medalist spot by shooting 71-74 for a 145 total. Cuyler Waide shot 79-76 for 155 which landed him in seventh place. Skyler Hall was close behind for Perryton as he shot 77-81 for a 158 to place 10th.
