Rangers win low scoring game

The Ranger basketball team travelled to Dumas for an important game on Friday night. Perryton looked to pick up a win to help them secure a playoff position. The two teams are evenly matched. Dumas defeated the Rangers in a close game by the score of 36-34 in their first game earlier in the season.

Friday was the tale of two halves. The teams were almost matched point for point in the opening half. The Rangers took over in the second half to pick up the important win. At the end of a defensive struggle on Friday, the Rangers pulled out the victory by the final score of 32-17.

Dumas jumped out to an early lead by the score of 8-5 at the end of the first quarter. Braden Klafka kept the Rangers close with a threepoint basket. Ryan Davis connected on two free throws in the period for Perryton. Both teams struggled to score throughout the contest.

The score remained close at the half. Perryton made a run and trailed by one point at the break by the score of 13-12. Klafka scored 4 more points while Davis nailed a long three-point shot for the Rangers.
