Demonettes sweep the Rangerettes

The Rangerette basketball team hosted the Dumas Demonettes for a critical game on Tuesday. With a victory, Perryton could move into a tie for first place in district with Dumas. The Demonettes won the first game in Dumas by the score of 26-21. While the offensive output of Tuesday’s game almost doubled the first contest, the results were the same. Dumas pulled out a close victory, 43-41.

Dumas jumped out to a lead by the score of 11-8 at the end of the first quarter. Gisselle Hernandez worked hard in the paint to keep Perryton close with 4 points. Morgyn Vela and Cassidy Farney each scored 2 points in the quarter. Dumas guard Macie Medrano scored 7 points in the first period.

Scoring totals were the exact same in the second quarter, as Dumas extended their lead to 22-16. Elektra Rowlan sank a three-point bucket for the Rettes while Molly Mc-Gaughy and Tori Rivera scored 2 points each. Kenzie Maley hit a free throw to complete the scoring totals for Perryton in the half.
