The Jennie June Club met Dec. 11 at the Senior Citizen Center for a noon luncheon.

After lunch, Penny Clark, president, called the meeting to order and the collect was read.

Clark read a quote for the day to the group from Roy T. Bennett, “Light in the Heart”: “Accept yourself, love yourself and keep moving forward. If you want to fly, you have to give up what weighs you down.”

First vice president Darless Bishop reported on the social held in the home of Kay Neufeld Dec. 6. She also said the Amarillo Sod Poodles game schedule is available, and a group trip to a game will be discussed at the January meeting.

Arlene Boxwell, project chairman, told the group the Panhandle Crisis Center will let the club know when more blankets are needed.

Carolyn Thomas, corresponding secretary, announced members with birthdays in December: Barbara Johnson on Dec. 6 and Diana Wooster on Dec. 17.
