The Ranger and Rangerette cross country teams completed another successful year on Monday at the Region 1-4A meet. The squads completed in Lubbock against the toughest competition in Texas.

Three runners will advance to the state meet: Adrian Ceniceros, Jonathan Alaniz and Gisselle Hernandez.

“The Rettes placed sixth and all five of the teams that beat us are ranked in the top ten in the state. The Rangers missed state by 14 points and finished fifth behind Canyon. Our men’s team should end up in the top 10 of the final state rankings. Region 1 is very tough!” Coach Ulises Lopez commented.

“When you compare our times with other regions, we definitely have the fastest one. I always tell our kids that we will train hard in hopes of advancing. If we make it out as a team then we are going to be one of the top five teams at state. We will have to keep working and I think we are heading in the right direction,” he continued.
