The Rangers will be at home again this Friday night when they host the state ranked Canadian Wildcats. Game time is 7 p.m.

The Rangers come into the game with a 1-1 record. They lost their season opener to Dumas, 51-20. They rebounded the next week, and picked up a 22-14 win over the Childress Bobcats.

Around the district last Friday, Lubbock Estacado beat Pampa, 30-24; Levelland fell to Shallowater, 28-20; Dalhart was blasted by Bushland, 61-8; and Borger picked up a 33-23 win over Lubbock High.

The Wildcats are ranked number two in the state in 3A, DII by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. They are also pegged to repeat as district champions. Last year they were 14-2, advancing to the state finals, losing to Newton.

Canadian began its season with a 36-22 victory over West Texas High in a close game. Canadian led 14-6 at the half, but going into the fourth quarter, the Comanches had closed the gap to 28-22. The Wildcats sealed the win in the fourth.
