Taunia Logan, a 2005 PHS graduate, opened a decorative pottery exhibit this week at the Museum of the Plains. Titled “Cultivated: A Study of Pit Firing with Elements Gathered Throughout the State,” the exhibit features pottery Logan created in April through June of this year. Logan traveled to several locations around Texas, including Perryton, the Hill Country, South Texas beaches, and College Station, where she gathered local materials, like wildflowers, driftwood, seaweed, and bluebonnets, to use while creating pottery using ancient pit-firing techniques. The exhibit will be open at the museum through Sept. 3.
