TEACHING BICYCLE SAFETY

The Ochiltree County 4-H and Ochiltree Hospital District held a bicycle safety workshop at the Expo on Tuesday. Each child was correctly fitted for a helmet, which was provided by Perryton area physicians and the Texas Medical Association, and t-shirts provided by Perryton Police Department in conjunction with Amanda and Blake Torres of Littlefield. The children went to several exhibits featuring bicycle safety guidelines, hand signals, how to properly look both ways before crossing an intersection, and more. The children also had a chance to complete a bicycle obstacle course and see inside the helicopter ambulance, and watched it land and take off. Pictured above, left photo, Lynsey McAnally with OGH went over important things to keep in mind while riding; at right, Fire Chief Paul Dutcher fitted Zoey Yara with her helmet.
